Flu Treatment

The flu treatment should be done very properly. Illness as usual looks like a common cold but it is dangerous for its complications. They are especially bad for children and old men who have weak immunity.

The flu treatment should be done like that. First of all the ill person should be isolated, given personal dishes like cups or plates, forks and spoons. These dishes are to be boiled after the usage. Family ought to call the doctor immediately. The patient should never practice self flu treatment because the flu is rather dangerous illness. During the continuation of the disease patient should be confined to bed. The space where the ill person stays ought to be regularly aired (3-4 times a day for 15-20 minutes.) The room should be washed every day as well. The members of the family, especially little children should wear masks to prevent disease. The ill person ought to be kept in warmth. The warm bathes are very useful. The food of the patient should be substantial and full of vitamins. The ill person ought to take much warm or hot drinks: like tea (with honey, lemon), milk etc.
Ill person is to take some medicine for coughing and heart if he has some respiratory or heart problems. Sometimes patient should be given some injections. Such medicine like interferon is rather effective and may be used even in case of prophylactic of the illness. The patients with the bad form of flu, especially with a danger of developing of the secondary bacterial infection should take antibiotics. But again all the medicine is to be taken according to the prescription of the doctor.
People who don’t like flu treatment have a chance to prevent it. To prevent flu person may be vaccinated. As usual vaccine doesn’t help everybody. Efficiency of it is 80 to 95%. After it only 1-2 vaccinated persons in 10 can fall ill with flu. But even though they usually suffer from flu in a light form. The patient is to be vaccinated 2 weeks before epidemic (or better 1-2 months) to form immunity. That is in October-November. The people should be vaccinated every year because the virus of flu changes very often. Every 30-40 years appears new type of virus. So every year new vaccine against flu appears. This vaccine may be given to children even at the age of 6 months. People who are more than 60 years old and have some heart problems, problems with the organs of breathing or metabolic disease cannot be vaccinated. Those people whose job is connected with being in public (teachers, doctors, drivers of public transport etc.) cannot be vaccinated too. As well as people who have allergy for proteins of the hen eggs which are concluded into the vaccine. For prevention of allergic reaction the person should stay under the observation of doctor or nurse during not less than 30 minutes after being vaccinated. As for the pregnant women they may be given a vaccine only in an emergency.

The flu shot does work as I get sick very easily. About 3 yrs ago, the Dr. suggested I get a flu shot & I have not had the flu since. Just a common cold every now & then. Also, do not dress too warmly in winter as this causes you to sweat increasing the chance or illness. A good vitamin that should be taken daily is centrum a to z. At the onset of even the slightest cough or runny nose, get some meds down so the illness does not get worse.

Flu shots do work for some people and some don't. I don't get the flu shot, becaues I am healthy and I have asked my doctor about it and he says that people over 65 and the ones who have medical problems are the ones who really need it.Bold

I can no take the flu shot as I have another medical problem that makes it out of the question for me to take this shot.In the fall I start taking large doses of Vitamin C and I find that it has helped me a lot. I also try to avoid heavy crowded places so I go out shopping at odd hours like when many are at home for lunch or dinner and early in the morning.

Flu is a bacterial attact to our body. There are several ways to prevent and treat it. Prevention is cheaper than cure as they say. But if the virus has invaded our body, treatment is the only remedy. Antibiotics sometimes can help or other medicines. Our body became the battle ground between the virus and medicine that we often give to fight this viruses, later the battle ground will surrender becuase the battle cause so much damage internaly. Flu Preventions and Treatments

The simplest and the best solution for Flu is the yearly vaccination, get your self vaccines each fall and rid your self from the perilous Flu. Antiviral medications such as Tamiflu, Relenza etc are other measures that can help protect against the flu. Below are the list things that will help you protect yourself from against Flu and its symptoms.

Avoid putting your hands near your eyes, nose or mouth, unless you have washed. Most bacteria and germs are spread from a surface to your hands to your face. Few germs are transmitted through the air. Avoid prolonged exposure to persons with colds

Clean environmental surfaces with virus-killing disinfectant frequently. Get enough sleep, drink plenty of fluids, eat a balanced diet, exercise, and avoid stress. Dress appropriately when going outdoors. If chilled from a fever avoid bundling up as this may increase body temperature

Do not take aspirin. Use cough syrups, decongestants, cough drops or throat lozenges if you have a cold.
