Re: Flu treatment advice needed. Yes, a flu shot does help if it is the strain of flu that is going around, the bad part about the flu is the germ can mutate creating another strain, some resistant to antibiotics. But, if you do have the chance to get the shot do it. Dont forget to keep yourself healthy though, get the proper rest and diet. I use common herbs such as black walnut, ginger root, milkthistle and slipery elm, these common herbs do wonders for the body as do certain medicinal mushrooms.

Re: Flu treatment advice needed. flu shots only cover certain strains of the flu virus. a lot of people assume that they will not get the flu because of the flu shot. doctors need to explain more about the flu shot before they give it to the patient. all you can do for the flu because its a virus is get plenty of rest and drink lots of fluids. even if you feel better eat light like toast or soup. alot of heavy meals aggravate the stomach and cause the vomiting and nausea. there isnt much you can do for the flu except let it run its course and not get dehydrated.

Re: Flu treatment advice needed. best thing to do is get two things to prevent the flu. Emergency - c packets that you can drink every day and this other stuff called Wellness formula in tincture or pill form. I always drink excessive amounts of both even if I think I may get sick. Both also work the same way if you're already sick. Just takes a bit longer.

Re: Flu treatment advice needed. The best thing to do is to try to avoid getting the flu in the first place. Wash your hands frequently, avoid crowds during the flu season. Eat healthy to keep your resistance up. If you do succumb, drink plenty of fluids, water, ginger ale, 7-up, gator ade etc. Beef or chicken bullion, or warm tea, can be soothing. Imodium can provide some relief. Take tylenol, but no matter how tempting, do not exced the recomended dosage. Get plenty of rest and TLC.

Re: Flu treatment advice needed. I just returned from a vacation from Florida and was sick with the flu. I drank Thera-Flu every 6 hours, sipped on vernors and stayed in bed for 2 days. Once I stopped vomiting, I ate soup. This seems to help everytime for me.
